Melissa Ann Andreini, a 28-year-old former junior high school teacher in Helper has been charged with paying a 15-year-old male student after having sex with him. The victim’s mother figured out what was happening, and showed up at Andreini’s home on July 3rd to confront her. Andreini admitted to the mother that she had been having sex with her son which led to Andreini’s arrest.
Andreini has been charged in 7th District Court with three third-degree felony counts of unlawful sex with a minor arising from three separate sexual encounters at Andreini’s home in June. As the Utah Division of Child and Family Services and local police investigated, they learned that Andreini allegedly paid the student between $1,400 and $1,500 after the encounters – it is unclear whether she paid him for the sex or to keep him quiet. Andreini could serve up to 5 years on each count if convicted.
