At about 7:15 a.m. this morning, a pickup truck flying through heavy traffic on I-15 caused an accident that brought morning northbound commuter to a standstill. The driver was headed through the south end of the Salt Lake Valley when he swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle. As he swerved, he hit a pickup in the next lane and then swerved back and hit two cars.
The accident shut down two northbound lanes and backed traffic up for about two miles. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident and the road was completely reopened about an hour and half later. The at-fault driver will be cited for causing the accident.
