My partner Jim McConkie and I, two Salt Lake City personal injury attorneys who have practiced together for almost thirty years, hold the record for the largest wrongul death verdict ever obtained in the state. We obtained the verdict in a federal court case we filed relating to the death of Rulon Allred. The case was tried in the Federal District Court in Salt Lake City before a jury comprised of citizens chosen from around the state. Following their deliberation in the case, the jury rendered a verdict in favor our clients for over Fifty Million Dollars.
The Allred family, who hired us to file their case, had a difficult time finding a lawyer who would take their case. After being turned down by several firms, they contacted us, and we accepted their case. The jury verdict was front page news and helped to establish important precident in the federal courts for the state of Utah. Our firm, Parker & McConkie, has also obtained the largest medical malpractice jury verdict in the state and during the course of our carreers have obtained other million-dollar wrongful death and medical malpractice jury verdicts.
