Chicago elementary school Principal Georgette Watson died today while undergoing a root canal. It is reported that she died of a heart attack while under sedation. It is still unclear whether she was unconscious or was given anesthesia. Office staff tried to revive Watson before paramedics arrived but were unsuccessful.
Two of the dentists have been on probation since July “due to substandard dental work and failure to maintain records,” according to documents on the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Web site.
The documents do not specify the nature of the alleged violations, but according to the Web site, doctors “whose licenses are placed on probation are allowed to continue practicing subject to certain terms and conditions.”
As of this morning the dentist office appeared to be closed and nobody was available for comment.
