Helmets For Motorcyclists A Must

Comments Off

Another motorcycle accident has claimed a life in Utah and it may have been saved if the rider had been wearing a helmet. Charles Taylor of West Jordan, Utah, died on July 3rd shortly after a car swerved into his lane in Parleys Canyon near Jeremy Ranch in Summit County.

The Utah Highway Patrol has reported that Taylor slammed on his brakes to avoid the car after it entered his lane, but he could not slow down fast enough. He hit the back of the car and then flipped several times. Troopers confirmed that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. He died about 10 minutes after arriving at the hospital.

The facts about safety and helmets for motorcycle riders are abundant. Helmets will not prevent every injury, brain or otherwise, or death, but helmet use significantly reduces the incidence of such consequences of motorcycle accidents. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation offers an incredible resource that provides information that every rider should know before they leave the driveway. Before you hit the road on a motorcycle please do your research, make the helmet purchase that may very well save your life, and use it consistently.
