Personal Injury to Baby

Comments Off

McConkie said today that in a lawsuit against one of the largest hospitals in Utah, the doctors in the case admitted that if the nurses had called and informed them of the mother and child’s condition that they would have gone to the hospital to deliver the baby sooner. Had this been done, the doctors could have intervened and more likely than not saved this newborn form serious birth injuries involving a brain injury caused from lack of oxygen. McConkie said that “It goes without saying, that it is important for a doctor to be advised of the mother’s condition so that they can be available to deliver the baby in a timely manner.”
